A Favorite Thing

I thought I would share with you another one of my favorite things...

This game, Zooloretto, became a favorite thing during the holidays. This was one of our family gifts and we love it. It is a quick, fast-moving game, has some strategy involved--but not a lot (for those times you just don't want to think that hard), and is simple to learn. The only drawback is that it only allows up to five players so if you have a big family not everyone can play (unless people team up which is what we do). Oh! Another positive is that it has really fun two player modifications (sometimes just two players modifications aren't that great).

Here is a peak at the board with some playing pieces on it (each player gets their own board)....

The goal is to fill your zoo with animals and vending carts but you only have so much space. If you get an animal that can't go into one of the cages you have to put it into the barn. Whatever animals you have in the barn costs you points at the end of the game. Of course there are more details than this but that is a quick overview. It may not sound that exciting but it did earn the 2007 Game of the Year by the same group that gave "Ticket To Ride" the award a previous year. So, this game does have some credentials!

So, if you're looking for a fun game sometime this year you may want to check this one out. I got mine through Amazon but I know gaming stores will have them too.
